POLICIES
Booking my services: I can be reached best either through email or by phone. I do not require a deposit, but I do ask that you reserve the dates so that I can be sure to save the time to devote to your projects. All my work is handwritten to offer a unique and one of a kind design.
Turn around time: My turn around time in most cases is within one or two weeks, but will be based on how many items that will be needed and the time of year. I do ask for three full weeks for completion so that I can take the time I need to devote to your project. If I finish earlier, I will contact you, and your items may be picked up early.
Rush Fee: I am available to do rush orders for an additional fee. I do not rush through your project: I simply rearrange my schedule to accommodate your needs.
Address Lists: All addresses should be typed in either address label form or spread sheet. If it is in spread sheet form, please make sure the print isn’t too small (no smaller than 12 font please) and is double spaced. The addresses should be exactly how you want them on the envelopes. You must provide a finished, numbered, or alphabetized list at the time of drop off. Complying to this will insure the fastest and most accurate results. Additional addresses and changes can be emailed to me as they come up. I do understand that addresses change and you may add a few people to your list. There may be a fee for any that need to be redone because of an address change. All other items to be written must be typed.
Note about addressing: My goal is to make every envelope look its best, and sometimes this may
mean changing some part of the work to make the address fit. For example, most double names do not fit on one line when they are written out in calligraphy, and if they do fit, most of time it does not look nice. Also apartment numbers at ends of addresses sometimes don’t fit. If I do not feel that they will fit on a line I will break them up.
Additional Supplies: Please provide me with at least 20% extra materials. This is needed for flaws in the paper, human error, or additions or changes that may occur. Many of the papers used in today’s envelopes are challenging surfaces to write on. You will not be charged for my mistakes.
Ink options: I use special calligraphy pens. The basic ink colors I offer are black, brown, and blue. Other colors require specialty pens or ink and are an extra fee. I am more than happy to try and match your color the best I can. Please let me know ahead of time of the color you desire, so that I can have the supplies on hand for your project.
Prices: All the prices are listed on the price sheet and on line. Please keep in mind the prices do vary a little due to ink fees.
Pick up and Drop off: I do work out of my home, so you will be delivering your items to me there. We can set up times to accommodate your schedule for dropping off and picking up your items. Please be on time for your appointments; there may be other appointments after you.
Shipping: If you do not live in the Pittsburgh area or just don’t have the time to drop off or pick up your items, shipping is available. I prefer to mail through the postal service, and all items will be insured. I do not hand deliver, and all shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility. I will email you a confirmation when your package arrives to me. I will email you an invoice a few days before completion and payment must be received before I ship your order. I cannot be responsible for items damaged or lost during shipping.
Payment: Full payment must be received upon pick up. I will notify you with a receipt when your project is finished. I accept cash, check, or Paypal. There will be a $30 fee for all returned checks.
Additional notes: If you are planning to glue something to an item that I will be writing on, please wait until after I write to glue them together. If there is glue on the paper, the ink will not write over it. Please wait to assemble any item to be written on until you get the items back.
